Air Zimbabwe scoops management awards at the Zimbabwe Institute of Management Manager of the Year 2008 Awards Diner

Air Zimbabwe Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Peter Chikumba walked away with the Zimbabwe Institute of Management Manager of the Year 2008 – Public Service Category at the a glitzy awards dinner held on July 10th at a local hotel. The airline was also presented with the Human Resources Training and Development Award, which is given to the company that trains the highest number of its employees with the Institute. Air Zimbabwe trained 300 management and staff in 2008.

The airline, in April and May this year, was conferred Leadership and Tourism development awards by the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe and The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority respectively. Air Zimbabwe has managed to soar high despite the challenging economic environment, exacerbated by the current global financial crises, which has adversely affected the aviation industry.
