Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR)

An unaccompanied minor is a child travelling alone. The limitations for accepting UMNR on Air Zimbabwe are as follows:

Domestic and regional flights – the child must have reached his/ her 5 thbirthday and would not have reached his / her 12 th birthday. (between 06 and 12 years)
International flights – the child must have reached his/her 6 thbirthday and would not have reached his/her 12 th birthday.
Passengers who have reached their 12 th birthday and have not reached their 15 th birthday may travel as unaccompanied at the request of their parents or guardians.
A handling fee of GBP20.00 (or an equivalent in foreign currency) is charged for each unaccompanied minor assisted at Gatwick for each arrival or departure.

Wheelchair assistance

Passenger with physical mobility limitations due to illness, injury, disability, age may request the use of wheelchairs at the airport upon making their reservation. We offer special wheelchair assistance in the airport terminal building, to and from the aircraft, ascending and descending aircraft steps. We use a Passenger aid unit ( PAU) for lifting passengers on wheelchairs onto the aircraft.
Such passengers are boarded first and disembark last for their comfort and convenience.

Meet and Assist

We also offer special assistance to the elderly and the blind. An escort is provided to assist with all airport procedures and this can also be requested at the time of making a reservation. This can also apply to first time travellers, our staff are there to give all the necessary assistance.

Expectant Mothers

An expectant mother whose pregnancy has reached 28 weeks may be accepted for travel by air up to the end of the 35 th week provided:
- She submits a medical certificate prepared by a competent doctor showing the following information: that she was examined not more than 72 hours before departure of her flight, expected date of delivery, that the journey may not harm the baby, and an indemnity bond signed by her husband.

Special Meal Requests

Passengers requiring special meals for example vegetarian meal, Moslem meal should make these requests at the time of booking or contact our reservations at least 24 hours before departure to enable the airline to advise its caterers.
