Rainbow Club Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the Rainbow Club Frequent Flyer Programme. They are intended to protect both Members and Air Zimbabwe. It is the Member’s responsibility to read and understand them. Every Member is subject to these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions may be amended from time to time.

Eligibility of Membership

  • Membership is available to individuals in their personal capacity only and as such is not open to families, groups, companies, trusts, partnerships, other entities, government departments, agencies.
  • Membership is open to individuals who are 18years and above
  • Membership will be established in the individual’s personal capacity and name as it appears on the member’s valid passport and/or official national identification document. Only such Member may earn Miles on this membership number.
  • Any change to Membership details may only be effected in writing or electronically with proof of valid identification.
  • Only one membership enrolment per person can be accepted.
  • In the case of a new enrolment, tickets flown on Air Zimbabwe dating back to one year from date of application shall be considered.

Use of Card

  • When utilising any of the services and benefits offered by Air Zimbabwe, your valid card must be available for verification. If your card is not presented, services and benefits may be denied.
  • The card is valid for use only by the member and is not transferable
  • The card is valid for use during the period indicated on it
  • The card shall remain the property of Air Zimbabwe
  • Lost or damaged card will be replaced at a cost of US10.00.

Earning Miles

  • Miles are not automatically updated or credited at the airport.
  • Members need to submit tickets through our Sales office addressed to Rainbow Club or via mail or electronically to rainbow@airzimbabwe.aero each time you travel. Failure to submit your tickets means your miles will not be updated.
  • Tickets are to be submitted to Rainbow Club office within one year from date of     travel.
  • A club member earns miles every time they fly Air Zimbabwe as per the earning schedule.
  • The earning schedule is subject to change without notice.
  • Members may earn Miles on any eligible fare per flown sector, i.e. any flight for which a separate ticket coupon is issued.
  • No Miles shall be earned for industry travel, AD/ID tickets, tour operator tickets, tickets based on unpublished fares, charter tickets, Rainbow club redemption tickets, compensation tickets, sponsorship tickets, .
  • Travel on an Upgrade Award or compensation upgrade voucher shall only earn Miles according to the actual fare purchased.
  • Miles cannot be transferred, assigned, sold or combined with any account or Miles of another person, whether or not that person is a member of the club

Tier Status and Benefits

  • When processing a new account all members are awarded with 2500 bonus miles.
  • Membership is available in three tier levels that is,
  1. Qualifier- one has not reached 21 000 miles
  2. Skyhigh – one has reached 21 000 miles
  3. Premium – one has reached 100 000 miles

Mileage Validity and Award Tickets

  • Miles are valid for two years
  • Miles can either go towards member’s free tickets or transferred to free tickets for use by immediate family members.
  • Members will be required to pay for airport and insurance taxes
  • Request for ticket redemptions should be made by the members at least 7 days prior to date of travel. The application may be mailed, faxed or emailed to the Rainbow club office.
  • Air Zimbabwe is not liable for any delays of travel date(s) or delays in processing Awards as a result of insufficient documents and processing time.
  • The Member must have sufficient miles for the Award required. The relevant number of Miles will be withdrawn from the member’s account in accordance with the published mileage redemption table.
  • Award tickets cannot be redeemed during the following peak periods:
  1. 01 December to 15 January
  2. 01 April to 15 May
  3. 01 July to 15 August
  • Award tickets are valid for three months. Free changes are allowed within the three months.
  • Once Award tickets have been issued, they are not transferable.
  • In the event of flight cancellations
  • The passenger will be transferred to the next available flight with Air Zimbabwe specified on the Award ticket
  • The Member must submit a request for the unused Award to the Rainbow Club Office so that the unused Miles can be credited to the member’s account. This must be accompanied by documentation of the circumstances, including original boarding passes and copy of the airline ticket(s).


  • Air Zimbabwe reserves the right to terminate inactive members two years from date of joining. (inactive members are those who have not earned or spent miles within two consecutive years)
  • Membership will be terminated on the death of a member.
