An exercise to test the combined response of all emergency service providers to a major aviation incident took place at Harare airport today in line with the requirements of International Civil Aviation Regulations.

Emergency Service Providers from in and around the city of Harare participated in the Mock exercise.

The drill is part of a larger exercise to keep emergency services personnel equipped in the event of major aviation disasters.

The 3 hour exercise stimulated a high jack situation.

Unfortunately the exercise was mistaken by some sections of the Public and Media for an actual accident. We wish to advise the travelling public that no such accident has occurred and Air Zimbabwe is still flying you safely.
